Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Deb Goes "Back to Work"! As Ellie entered her final year of preschool I began to look forward a bit and weigh my options for future employment. I love being home with my children, but now all four of them are in school. For preschool Ellie attended a Mom's day out program at a local church. The school was seeking substitutes so l decided to apply. I loved it! The kids at the school were wonderful and the staff was great. I taught in the three-year old class for two years. In addition, I finally applied for my Kansas Teaching License, but God had other plans for me. At end of the 2008 school year I began to pursue an opportunity at my church to open a Preschool/PDO there. You can check out the church website to keep track of how things are going with this project - www.southwoods.org.
Deb Went "Back to School"! In fall 2003 as I sent three of the kids off to school, I decided to go too. I took an accounting class at the local community college. So is accounting going to be a new career change for me? God only knows! I have to admit though, I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure if it was because I got a night off from the ordinary routine or if accounting is a hidden passion of mine, but I enjoyed the experience. Semester One Done... how about another one? I successfully completed the first semester of my Return to College Endeavor. My exposure to the world of accounting was, well, interesting. After taking Accounting I, I took on Accounting II. I took this course online which was a real challenge for this chronic procrastinator. Then I took on two more classes, Managerial Accounting and Computer Applications for Accounting. Rethinking the School Thing I am now trying to decide where I want to go from here with the whole "Back to School" thing.
