On March 18, 2005 Grandpa passed away. Our children miss their Grandpa dearly. What a great man he was. By example he taught the children the value of a life well lived. Grandpa's farm was a place where memories were made that will never be forgotten. The children loved tractor rides with Grandpa, they loved the bonfires, they loved it when he would take them into the barn to look around, they loved hearing the loud bang when Grandpa would light one of the cannons. But most of all they loved just being with him.
For Tor and I we lost a Father. He was a very wise man. He could work circles around Tor and I loved watching them work together when they built our swing set and replaced our basement windows. Dad would only come to visit when we had a project for him to do, and looking back now, I wish I would have come up with lots of projects for him to do. He was a gentle and compassionate man one of the last of his kind. He was generous with his time and talents. His presence in our family is greatly missed.
